Nice tig welds! How did the rear hubs came out? I prepaired mine for welding about year ago, but I always puting away the welding proces, I'm afraid for bearing area distorsion...

I prepared tool, probably when you will be patient during welding you will not to overheat parts,
I think the best solution is to start welding inside of the hube

If you weld only on the inside edge of the wrap around plates & not on the outside you do not get welding distortion.
The plates that surround the machined bearing housing.
Welding on the outside of the bearing housing over the bearing area will cause distortion, so avoid that.

This is something that I didn't consider when welding and I have wrecked 3 of the bearings from binding pressure. Luckily I was on night shift and didn't have anything to do so I put them in the 4 jaw and was able to skim it enough to get the bearing to a tap in fit. Then made a jig up for the mill and used a boring head to skim the other side. Worked a treat.

Ok, I'll weld mine as Tony says and then check the inside diameter, if there will be bigger changes I'll try to put them in lathe. Thanks

i remember i got that problem, after welding size of all pice was to big to put it in lathe... better to learn on other's mistakes than ours ;)
