Gday Chop, Al would be the best bloke to give you an answer as he has a blackbird engine in his Piranha. Do they have a sidestand switch? If the ECM thinks the sidestand is down it wont let you start in gear. Safety shite.

HI Choppper, It is your side stand switch, If it is currently Bridged, Disconnect the wires, if not, then you need to connect them.

usually it's a wire running from the ECU to the switch the 2nd wire runs to earth, so you might get away with running the wire from the ECU straight to earth.

Let us know how you get on.

Hey Anthony, it's definitely your side stand switch mate, as per what jet says. Tried to find my Honda manual to check on it for ya, but that much crap in my garage at the mo having trouble finding anything :( .

thanks heaps guys, yeah it was the sidestand switch, it was in the wrong position, turned it around and bingo, we have ignition, i am going to run a brake light switch for the clutch, just as easy to do that rather than cut it out completely

Just bridge it mate if you don't wanna have to worry about having the clutch in then you won't need to physically cut it out.. If thats what you meant ;)

Or if you wanna keep it just get a brake light switch for back of clutch pedal and run the wiring off that, that way you need to put the clutch in to start.. ;)
